Do I have to go to court if I file Bankruptcy?
In most Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases the debtor is not required to appear at Court and is only required to attend a Meeting of Creditors held by a trustee. Typically, these meetings last 5-10 minutes and no creditors actually appear. If there should be an issue in the case that is disputed other court proceedings are possible but rare. In
cases your attorney appears at subsequent hearings on behalf of the clients.
