Yes. Most short sales get done when the seller is in foreclosure. Sellers have the right to do a short sale up until the property is actually foreclosed and sold at a foreclosure auction. In some case there is already a foreclosure judgment when the short sale gets approved and the lender/ bank agrees to cancel the foreclosure sale.
